This print is from an original oil painting of the Moorland between Belmont and Egerton. The Moor slopes downwards here towards the East and the urban sprawl of Bolton and Greater Manchester. An area of open grassland and planted conifer woodland most of which has been recently felled. Dotted along the moors are old Pit shafts, Bell Pits and pitheads and other coal workings.
